The cab ride of death, I would like to make a note to all taxi drivers that tooting your horn does not constitute as sufficient safety measure when you’re running red lights at a 110 k’s an hour. But then again I guess I’m still alive. After about two hours of over quoted hotel rooms and being taken for a ride around town, literally and figuratively, we decided to crash at Raff’s room. We walked straight into the Sofitel smelling like a 18 hour train journey, through the metal detector and into a pat down. It was like walking through the pearly white gates as the air-conditioning graced our faces we where stuck with awe at the price of a single room, but lobby was better than any room we had set foot into, so we were happy. We got into the room and Raff flicked the switch that opened the curtains and struck a pose that left me feeling vulnerable and flattered at the same time. We made it finally!!… after 950 pages and two years we made it to Shantaram’s refuge at Leopolds. It’s funny to go to a place after you have read a book because it is more than likely nothing like you imagined but I can tell why this was the chosen place to hangout. Raff is photogenic masterpiece that has yet to have been discovered by the public until now. Me explaining the difference between Mine and Raff’s manhood, both something to laugh at. The metro trains in Mubai are crazy but fun, with mens and women’s carriages kept separate you are constantly watching the door of the next carriage to see if your other half has gotten off. Hanging out of the trains in India is one of my favourite things to do and in Mumbai it’s a lot different to the rural trains because you could slap the man hanging out of the oncoming train. Packed to the rafters even out of rush hour times, when I come back to Mumbai I am going to pull up a pew with a view and watch the chaos unleash at rush hour. This is the movie I didn’t get to see because I was sick but apparently the crowd go wild clapping, whistling and jeering the screen. All in Hindi and still a good time. This is the view from the balcony at the place we where staying, the lights in the background are the train station or rocket launch pad I couldn’t hear the difference.
